Write to win hearts

Write your blogs like you are reaching out to the cat who wants the cupcake

What I’m going to say  may seem obvious, but it’s something I’ve found makes the craft of writing much easier.

When you are planning a series of blogs because you want to say something about your business, you want to communicate with clients and potential clients,  you probably have all  your potential client types buzzing in your head and are aiming to write for them all.

There are two reasons to write aimed at one person.
1.When you write for many, it’s so generic that no-one likes it because it’s not for anyone. Like a crowd of people all bustling along.

Too many people, it’s hard to catch one.

There’s nothing more daunting than trying to write a blog, letter or advertisement aimed at everyone.
The problem is – you just don’t know what to write because some people are going to love it and some people are going to hate it.

One of the difficulties I’ve had with this concept – please let me know if this is you too, is that I think that I have more than one type of client and worry that I’m not creating material that will be relevant to all my client types.

2. When you can write for one person, they will feel like the cat that got the cupcake so to speak. They’ll resonate with what you are saying. It’s taken me a while to learn this, but it’s so true.  What I’m saying is that writing especially for one person is the way to win their heart.
