Make time to think

Taking time to think

Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

Really taking the time to think is not as easy as it sounds.  It requires discipline and getting into the right state.

I have been lucky enough to be part of the Catherine Watkin Mentoring group for the last two years and in this programme, we were given ‘time to think’ on a regular basis.   This means getting into a place where you are focused and comfortable and being able to clear your mind of all the distractions that surround us all the time so that you can really allow the creative part of the mind to explore possibilities.

I have really valued this experience as it’s helped me to change the direction of my business from entirely public/private sector to now working with some fabulous clients who pay for themselves and to have clients both in my home area of Liverpool and throughout the UK.

The ability to be able to explore possibilities, think about them, choose to take them into action or discard them is one of the pleasures of being self-employed.

Because this is something I’ve found valuable to me, I aim to give my own clients the time to think as appropriate in their programme and this was the purpose of two client meetings yesterday.
